Lash Rehab: Why you should be using a lash conditioner

Looking after your lashes is like looking after your hair - you wouldn't wash your hair with soap and not condition it! Point being, if you want nice hair, skin or nails you need to look after them (unlike our friend Bridget below)

Daily life, stresses and pollution all effect our lashes and by using a conditioner we're just giving them a helping hand to stay strong and luscious during their cycle. What is their cycle I hear you ask:

  • Anagen – the active growth phase (4 – 6 weeks)

  • Catagen – the transition phase (2 – 3 weeks)

  • Telogen – the resting phase (up to 14 weeks)

Okay so you're ready to commit to the Lash Rehab Program - what should you be doing?

First and foremost, buy yourself a good lash conditioner. I always recommend the Nouveau Lashes Lash & Brow Condition (yes it can be used on your brows too!) which I sell and you can pick up at your next appointment. OR if you want to splash some extra £ then I also recommend the RapidSheild daily eyelash conditioner which you can pick up from Boots. Both work just as well as each other (I've tried and tested both) - it comes down to personal preference.

Now, you need to be using your conditioner every morning and evening - no off days! It's a bit like when you miss your gym session, you feel bad and then it takes you FOREVER to get back into the routine - and trust me, we've all been there! If you're a lover of mascara all day every day then I strongly recommend applying your conditioner before your mascara to give your lashes that protection and nourishment.

Congratulations! You're now on the Lash Rehab Program - welcome to the club! Now no one said this would be easy or an overnight miracle but you're on your way to stronger and healthier lashes. Well done you, we'll see you on the other side sister!
